Buddy Mentor is a community of the most loving and generous people I have ever met in my life. This program stands out because it provides resources and a lifetime of support since you really become part of a family. It is because of this experience that I pursue mentor-ship, value volunteerism, and wholeheartedly appreciate where I’ve come from.

Buddy/Mentor has had a positive influence and been a supportive program that kept hundreds of children from becoming a statistic. Miss B has been adopted into our family. Our children have excelled, graduated with Associates, Bachelors and Master’s Degrees. In addition, they were given opportunities to become mentors.

I teach most of the students who are in Buddy/Mentor and am constantly being asked, ‘When is the next program?” I enjoy seeing my students outside of school. The one-on-one mentoring model of this program is wonderful. The buddies light up when they connect with their mentor each month. It is a great organization and I look forward to our monthly meetings as much as the buddies do.
